Osmosis is the diffusion of a fluid, often water, across a semi-permeable membrane. The fluid moves to a solution where the solvent concentration is higher, and therefore equalizes out the solvent content on either side of the membrane. A type of cell division that results in four daughter cells is meiosis. The process by which a cell separates the chromosomes in its nucleus is mitosis. The combination of a substance with oxygen is oxidation.
