Divide: \((8.8 \times 10^{-8})\) \(\div (2.2 \times 10^{-6}) = \)

A \(4.0 \times 10^{-2}\)

First divide the nonexponential terms: \(8.8 \div 2.2 = 4.0\) When dividing, subtract exponents from each other (when multiplying, add the exponents together). –8 – (–6) = –2
