Ground is a reference point in an electrical circuit from which voltages are measured. It is a common return path for electric current and has the lowest potential in a circuit. Resistance, on the other hand, is a measure of an object's opposition to the flow of electric current. A place with a maximum resistance would be a place where there is very little current flow.
